About…

What’s to be DONE is the English version of the Dutch site Wat te DOEN Starting august 2026 withe a very limited collection of blogs originally written in English there will be translations added of relevant blogs, as well as new content.

The blog focuses on realistic reflections on the awkward situation of the people of the Free West. A sharp contrast with the mostly emotional reflections that are dominant in Mainstream and Oppositional media. Wherever possible there be ideas and suggestions how to counter this development. Thus, it adheres to the Realist Manifesto. Additionally, there remains room for incorrect and other reflections, translations of foreign material, and the occasional lighthearted or literary piece.

Social reality is particularly complex. In the face of this, our resources are extremely limited, and we must make choices. Our main points of focus are (in this order):

Ultimately, it concerns the organizations in which these points of attention take shape: the societal institutions and how to change them. This is the primary angle for our reflections.

Why What’s to be DONE?

What’s to be DONE is a pamphlet (essay) by Lenin from 1902.

Its essence, in contemporary language, is that serious changes in society cannot spontaneously arise from the population. An intellectual vanguard, organized in one way or another, is necessary for this. Doing refers primarily to the individual (oppositional) intellectuals, who must finally get out of their armchairs and realize that they are having to collaborate and reach an agreement.

And start to realize their plans!

The idea of change of order was not welcomed by the powers that be. And thus he and others have been smeared  by counter-propaganda from the start.
